Electric Loco Assembly & Ancillary Unit (ELAAU)/Dankuni of CLW produced 150th locomotive today. Praveen Kumar Mishra, General Manager flagged off the 150th locomotives through Video Conference (webex) from Chittaranjan amidst the presence of Pr. Head of Deptts. in the afternoon from the admin. office conference hall. Rajib Ray, PCEE/ Dankuni with the team of Dankuni unit were also associated during the despatch of 150th locomotive.
The GM appreciated the efforts of the team of Dankuni unit for such successful endeavour & increasing trend in the production of electric locomotives. The first electric locomotive from the ELAAU, Dankuni was produced in March 2016 and production of 12 locomotives in FY 2016-17 ; 25 locomotives in FY 2017-18 ; 50 locomotives during FY 2018-19 & 52 locomotives during FY 2019-20 and 10 locomotives till 10th Sept 2020 , Dankuni Unit has always been on an increasing trend.
It is to mention that during COVID-19 there was complete lockdown from 23-3-20 to 18-6-20 and production activity started from 19-6-20 at Dankuni.
For the production of the first 50 locomotives, it took 28 months, then for the next 50, it took 12 months and for this last 50 locomotives, it took 10 months. This shows remarkable improvement in production by the Dankuni unit of CLW.
