ER's monthly long distance passenger numbers grow 22.75% yoy

There has been significant growth of non-suburban passenger traffic (22.75 per cent) o­n Eastern Railway (ER) in end-November.

For the 10-day period from 21st to 30th November, 2019, total number of non-suburban passengers over ER, as compared with last year’s figure, has increased from 53.11 lakh to 65.19 lakh registering a growth of 22.75 per cent.

In Sealdah Division, there has been a growth of 66.09 per cent of non-suburban passengers from 21st to 30th November, 2019 and 36.08 per cent up to 30.11.2019 during this financial year, in comparison to the same period of last year.

In Howrah Division, it reveals that there has been a growth of 24.64 per cent of non-suburban passengers from 21st to 30th November, 2019 and 11.51per cent upto 30.11.2019 during this financial year, in comparison to the same period of last year.

Eastern Railway, is mostly a passenger carrying railway.
