ER's monthly long distance passenger numbers grow 22.75% yoy

There has been significant growth of non-suburban passenger traffic (22.75 per cent) o­n Eastern Railway (ER) in end-November.

For the 10-day period from 21^st to 30^th November, 2019, total number of non-suburban passengers over ER, as compared with last year’s figure, has increased from 53.11 lakh to 65.19 lakh registering a growth of 22.75 per cent.

In Sealdah Division, there has been a growth of 66.09 per cent of non-suburban passengers from 21^st to 30^th November, 2019 and 36.08 per cent up to 30.11.2019 during this financial year, in comparison to the same period of last year.

In Howrah Division, it reveals that there has been a growth of 24.64 per cent of non-suburban passengers from 21^st to 30^th November, 2019 and 11.51per cent upto 30.11.2019 during this financial year, in comparison to the same period of last year. 

Eastern Railway, is mostly a passenger carrying railway.
