Indian Railways has decided to earmark reserved /unreserved seats in second class (2S) as they used to exist in the pre pandemic period, This will be applicable for trains which have been restored with their original 5 digit numbers as on date said a letter from the Railway Board to all zones.
Second class accommodation running as on date as holiday specials will also be earmarked reserved or unreserved as per extant instructions the letter added.
Meanwhile, last month, IR had issued an approved list of passenger trains that zones were allowed to re-introduce. The list is as follows:
