South Central Railway will soon inaugurate a new Rajdhani express between Vijayawada and Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi. The new train is expected to be announced and launched within the next week or two.
The train will comprise of a total of 14 coaches including 8 AC 3 Tier, 2 AC 2 Tier, 1 AC First Class, 1 AC Hot buffet car and 2 End on Generator cum luggage cum guard vans. The rake composition will be augmented once the demand picks up. The rake will have coaches with in built hot cases to aid in better catering. The train will mostly like be a weekly express and share the same running timetable as the Nizamuddin Chennai Rajdhani express.
Since some of these coaches are not readily available, they are being loaned from Eastern, Western and East coast Railways. This urgency is explained by the fact that the railways would want to introduce the train within the next week itself, as the elections to the AP state assembly and the Lok Sabha are expected to be announced soon.
