A brand new fully airconditioned running room was inaugurated today by Ajay Kumar Singh, General Manager, South Western Railway.
Built at a cost of 2.7 crores, the running room is meant for loco pilots and guards to rest between duty hours. 40 rooms are meant for males and two are meant for the use of female staff.
Facilities like a dining hall, yoga/meditation room, recreation room and a modern kitchen are part of the running room complex.
An organic garden called Vasudha has also been developed to supply organic vegetables for the kitchen of running room.
