CR carried 2040 packages of oranges during last one month
In a relentless battle against COVID19, Central Railway ensures smooth transportation of essential items during the nationwide lock down. Central Railway has planned 220 timetabled parcel trains during this lockdown for sending essential commodities like medicines, perishables, etc. It has already run 125 trains and 95 trains are scheduled.
From these parcel trains more than 2000 tonnes of essential goods transported from Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Solapur and Bhusaval divisions of Central Railway. Nagpur Division of Central Railway carried 2040 packages of oranges which weighed 39 tonnes to Rourkela and Tatanagar during last one month. Besides this the parcel trains carried 216 tonnes of medicines and other medical equipment to various destinations like Kolkata, Guwahati, Secunderabad, Chennai, Jharsuguda, Tatanagar, etc.
Central Railway continues to deliver medicines, masks, hospital items and other medical commodities, fruits, vegetables, eggs, jute seeds, postal bags, perishable items, and raw material through its time-tabled parcel services to strengthen Government’s efforts in managing the challenges and adverse impact of corona virus in the country.
