Bengaluru Division today (19.05.2025) distributed 700 Channapattana Toys to children of migrant labourers who left Bengaluru by Shramik Special Trains.
These toys were procured by Commercial Department of Bengaluru Division and distributed under “Put the Smile Back” initiative launched yesterday by Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway Manager, Bengaluru Division.
Channapattana toys are GI (geographical indications, approved by government) tagged and quite famous among children. These toys are safe and good for children as they are made of wood and natural colour,
Bengaluru Division has undertaken “Put the Smile Back” initiative under the guidance of Shri Ashok Kumar Verma, Divisional Railway manager, Bengaluru, to make the journey of children of migrant labourers enjoyable and memorable. It also supports local art & craft of Karnataka. It encourages business of local artisans & artists.
Bangalore division distributed toys & chocolates to more than 50 children who travelled in Shramik Special yesterday also.
