Come 6th line, Malad’s suburban passengers have to board/alight local trains from the opposite door

Western Railway is in the process of constructing the 4.5 km long sixth line between Goregaon and Kandivali. This is being done by taking several mega blocks over the next few weeks.

As a result passengers boarding and alighting the local train at Malad will have to do so from the opposite door. The details of the new boarding/ alighting location of platforms at Malad station is as under:

  1. Platform No. 1 which currently receives Down Slow local trains for passengers to board/alight on the Left side (west) for trains coming from Churchgate side, will now shift to Right side (east). Passengers will board/alight from right with effect from 1st September, 2024.
  2. Platform No. 2 which currently receives Up Slow local trains for passengers to board/alight on the Left side (east) for trains coming from Virar side, will now shift to Right side (west). Passengers will board/alight from right with effect from 8th September, 2024.
  3. Platform No. 3 which currently receives Down Fast local trains for passengers to board/alight on the Left side (west) for trains coming from Churchgate side, will now shift to Right side (east). Passengers will board/alight from right with effect from 22nd September, 2024.
  4. Platform No. 4 which currently receives Up Fast local trains for passengers to board/alight on the Left side (east) for trains coming from Virar side, will now shift to Right side (west). Passengers will board/alight from right with effect from 29th September, 2024.
