Central Railway earned 266 crore revenue from ‘Mission Zero Scrap’
Central Railway under the able guidance of Shri Sanjeev Mittal, General Manager has achieved “Mission Zero Scrap” as it ensured that each Division, Workshop and Sheds under Central Railway are free from scrap material.
Up to mid-January of this financial year, Central Railway have sold Rs. 266 crore worth scrap Rails, P-way material, condemned coaches, wagons and locomotives against Rs. 208 crore worth scrap sale during the corresponding period last year, thus showing an increase of 28 %.
The ‘Mission Zero Scrap’ drive will not only generate revenue for Indian Railways, but will also create space for accumulating other materials.
Central Railway has sold approximately 40,000 metric tonnes (MT) of Scrap Rails and P-Way materials. In addition to this, condemned Rolling Stock i.e 55 wagons, 123 coaches and 12 locomotives were also sold during the year.
