Central Railway in its endeavor to provide better services to bonafide rail users and also to curb the ticketless travel, has regularly conducted intensive campaign against ticketless and irregular travel.. Senior Officers are closely monitoring the revenue loss due to ticketless travel and such other irregularities.
During the month of December-2019, Central Railway has earned Rs 12.20 crore as against Rs 10.40 crore in December -2018, an increase of 17.30%.
During the month of December-2019, 2.68 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel including un-booked luggage were detected as against 2.33 lakh cases in December -2018, an increase of 14.99%.
During the period April to December-2019 a total of 29.89 lakh cases of ticketless/irregular travel and un-booked luggage were detected as against 27.05 lakh cases in the corresponding period last year thereby showing an increase of 10.50%.
The earnings realized from such ticketless/irregular travel registered Rs.155.14 crore in the period April to December –2019 as compared to earnings of Rs.135.56 crore registered during the corresponding period last year showing an increase of 14.44%.
During the month of December-2019, 249 cases of transfer of reserved journey tickets were detected and Rs 1.95 lakh recovered as penalty.
Central Railway appeals to the passengers to travel with proper and valid railway tickets in order to avoid inconvenience and travel with dignity.
