CR’s Bhiwandi Road BDU loads 4761 tonnes of parcel in the last 3 months

 Central Railway’s (CR) Bhiwandi Road Parcel Terminal has emerged as the most successful Business Development Unit registering a loading of 4,761 tonnes of parcel in a span of 3 months.

Of this, 3,271 tonnes was loaded for Azara, Guwahati in 1.82 lakh packages over 10 trips. In addition, CR loaded 887 tonnes in 77,799 over eight trips to Shalimar.

A total of 4,761 tonnes of goods in 2.96 lakh packages have been dispatched to date from Bhiwandi Road Parcel Terminal, which included furniture, refrigerators, electronic items, food items, food products, medicines, plastic items, bags, stationery, lubricant oil and cosmetics.

Popular brands such as Godrej, Onida, LG, Bajaj, Parle-G, Hindustan Lever, Del-Monte and Milton used this time tabled parcel service from Bhiwandi Road. 

Bhiwandi Road railway station on Central railway’s Mumbai Division lies on the Vasai-Diva-Panvel route. It lies on an important North-South rail corridor with rail connectivity to JNPT port

It has an advantage of proximity to Mumbai and Thane city, adequate parking space for trucks and tempos, besides facilities for warehousing in the  vicinity of the railway station.  E-commerce companies such as Amazon, Flipkart, Reliance, Snapdeal, and FedEx have branches in the town.
