The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS), Western circle, R K Sharma inspected the route electrification works of the 70-km Okha Bhatiya section of Rajkot division, Western Railway on Wednesday.
This follows the commissioning of the section by the CORE’s (Central Organisation of Railway Electrification) Ahmedabad unit.The CRS inspected the section and advised for technical aspects and improvements in reliability & safety of OHE system.
The CRS was accompanied by Principal Chief Electrical Engineer Western Railway, G S Bhavaria along with Divisional Railway Manager Rajkot, A K Jain and other officials.
Before the CRS inspection, electric loco trials were done successfully at 110 kmph twice. The cost of electrification from Bhatiya to Okha was approximately Rs 103 crore according a statement by Western Railway’s Rajkot division.This includes the cost of Electrical, Civil and Signalling & Telecom works.
