As per the latest circular of the Railway Board, the 12721/22 Dakshin express would become an independent train and the slip coaches of the Visakhapatnam-Kazipet express would not be attached to the same. Instead, the 12861/62 would become an independent train with an added extension to Secunderabad.
The Dakshin Express, currently a 16 coach affair between Secunderabad and Kazipet, would be enhanced to 22 coaches. No details have yet been released regarding the change in timings due to the time saved in attaching/ detaching the slip coaches.
22415/16 Visakhapatnam – New Delhi AC express speeded up
The 22415/16 Visakhapatnam – New Delhi Andhra Pradesh AC Express has been speeded up with an aggressive schedule, as well as a change in operating pattern from 2 days / 1 night to 2 nights / 1 day run mimicking the pattern of the Dakshin express. There is now a reduction of timings by about 2 hours.
The 22415 Visakhapatnam – New Delhi express would depart Visakhapatnam at 10 pm and arrive in New Delhi at 6.35 am on the third day. The 22416 New Delhi – Visakhapatnam express would depart New Delhi at 7.40 pm and arrive Visakhapatnam at 5.05 am on the third day.
The train would now be run with 22 coaches. No details about the change in composition have been mentioned as yet.
