Dharam Veer Meena is the new GM CR

Dharam Veer Meena has taken over as General Manager of Central Railway (CR) on September 1, 2024. A 1988 batch IRSSE officer ( Indian Railways Service of Signal Engineers), he worked as Principal Chief Signal & Telecommunication Engineer, CR, prior to this.

He joined Railways in 1990. He was posted in South Eastern Railway from 1992 to 1998 as ( SER ) as Assistant Signal & Telecom Engineer, Shahdol, Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer, Bilaspur and Senior Divisional Signal & Telecom Engineer, Khurda Road.

He then joined Western Railway (WR) where he worked in various capacities and was responsible for implementing signalling works for projects such as multi- tracking of Viramgam Junction-Samakhiali Junction, Surendranagar-Rajkot, doubling cum gauge conversion of Ahmedabad-Mahesana Junction.

 He completed the first Embedded Block between Vadnagar and Visnagar of Ahmedabad Division and served as a member of the Indian Railways Signal Engineering Manual (IRSEM) Review Committee in 2020.

As PCSTE of West Central Railway, he successfully installed the KAVACH works over 548 km Mathura – Nagda section including Electronic Interlockings (EI) [Including New Katni Junction (NKJ) yard of 994 routes, and allied works].

He also headed ‘KAVACH Working Group’. As PCSTE of CR , since April 2024, he effected 88 signalling and related Installations, including Electronic Interlocking (EI) [inclusive of CSMT (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) and allied works.

Under him, CR has become the first zone to invite tenders for implementation of KAVACH for the entire network. From 2009 to 2014, as Deputy Chief Vigilance Officer on WR, he implemented Vigilance System Software (VSS).
