ECoR IMPLEMENTED e-OFFICE SYSTEM IN OFFICE WORKING

As a part of digital initiative and with an aim to go paperless in office working with promoting Green Railways and also improving transparency & efficiency of the existing official work system, East Coast Railway has started e-office System which will be a part of National e-governance programme of the government.

General Manager, East Coast Railway Shri Vidya Bhushan inaugurated the NIC e-Office System at its headquarters, today in presence of Additional General Manager Shri Sudhir Kumar and all Principal Heads of the Departments of ECoR.

This e-Office System will be a great platform towards paperless working of day to day activities and to bring transparency & efficiency in office functioning. This system will also promote green initiative.

E-Office is a cloud enabled software developed by Nation Informatics centre (NIC) that is being deployed/hosted from RailTel Tier III certified data centres at Secundrabad and Gurgaon.It is based on Central Secretariat Manual of e-Office Procedure (CSMeOP). The product is built as single reusable system by bringing together independent functions and systems under a single framework to enhance transparency, increase accountability and transform the government work culture and ethics.

This system is initiated in a single framework to enhance transparency, increase accountability and transform the govt work with culture and ethics. Currently, four modules viz. File Management System (e-File), Knowledge Management System (KMS), Collaboration & Management Services (CAMS) and Personnel Information Management System (PIMS) will be the part of the e-office System. The benefit of this system will be visible once the system is fully put to use and Manual File System is stopped. This will continue to be a tool to foster improved reliability, efficiency and productivity and will be benefit to Railway employees. E-Office will enhance data security & integrity and promote innovation by releasing staff energy and time from unproductive process and procedures.

  1. this had already been implemented in GNT division early this year – one of the lean & efficient divisions in performance; hopefully MoRlys and Railway Board encourage & support growth of this division, a couple of key projects – NDKD-KHT line construction & GNT-GTL doubling which significantly help faster movement in east-west & south-north directions of freight & pax are in progress, need greater support in faster execution
