Indian Railways (IR) has decided to provide for electrification works of those sections which were earlier sanctioned as new lines/ gauge conversions besides all un-electrified sidings and diesel loco sheds.
With this, IR plans to achieve 100 per cent electrification on its broad gauge network by adding the cost of electrification in the pink book (budget documents).

Apart from this, 58 sidings will also be electrified.
