In an endeavour to maintain the supply of essential commodities Eastern Railway has put all-out effort to run freight trains over ER network on 24×7 basis.
Freight trains in ER network carrying essential commodities and other inputs viz. Rice, Wheat, Sugar, Fertiliser, Coal & Minerals, Steel, Cement, Coal etc for maintaining the availability of essential items at the market of different areas during lockdown period.
THE LOADING & UNLOADING PERFORMANCE OF ER ON 3.5.2020 IS AS FOLLOWS:

Coal and Mineral – 26 Rakes
Container – 4 Rakes
Rice – 4 Rakes
Wheat – 1 Rake
Cement – 3 Rakes
Fertiliser – 1 Rake
Slag – 1 Rake
Clinker – 2 Rake
Steel – 1 Rake
Railway Material Consignment – 1 Rake
TOTAL LOADING: 40 Rakes
Coal – 22 Rakes
Container- 3 Rakes
Stone -10 Rakes
Cement -3 Rakes
Ballast- 2 Rakes
41 Empty Rakes were dispatched to different freight operating points to facilitate loading of essential commodities.
Everywhere health & hygiene of field staff are well taken care of keeping in view the basic guidelines of social distancing and other precautionary measures. Water, soap & sanitizer are affluently available in all working points. Proper Sanitization is also being done wherever required.
