Shri Suneet Sharma, General Manager, Eastern Railway awarded three best performing departments of ER Headquarters viz Office of the (i) Principal Chief Materials Manager (1st best kept office), (ii) Principal Chief Commercial Manager ( 2nd best kept office) & (iii) Principal Chief Security Commissioner ( 3rd best kept office) for their outstanding achievement towards maintaining a clean office during Swachhta Pakhwara , in a programme organized at ER HQ , Fairlie Place today.
Addressing the occasion, Shri Suneet Sharma, General Manager Eastern Railway said that all round Swachhta can be achieved through a sustained and continuous effort for cleanliness. The practice of housekeeping as well as drive for cleanliness at Railway premises should continue round the year for cleaner and better environment.
A short Natika on cleanliness in Railway premises and avoidance of use of plastic for better environment was also organized at ER HQ on this occasion.
It may be noted that this Railway has observed Swachhta Pakhwara across its entire network from 16 to 30 September , 2019. A massive Shramadaan Programme at different divisions, workshops and headquarters of Eastern Railway for cleanliness will be organized on 2nd October 2019 to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A massive awareness campaign will also be launched on Gandhi Jayanti day (2.10.19) towards ban on Single Use Plastic.
