Southern Railway has announced special discounted fares for premium Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto special trains between 15th and 31st December 2020.
Discounted fares are to be offered only to passengers who book tickets 1-4 days before departure of the train. Only AC Three Tier and AC Chair Car passengers can avail reduced fares.
Discounts offered are to be based on the occupancy levels of the train:

| 60% or less | 20% Discount |
| 60-80% | 10% Discount |
| More than 80% | No discount |
If the accommodation by the train is 60% booked or less, 20% discount will be offered on Base fare. If the occupancy is 70-80%, only 10% discount is given and where the occupancy is 80% or more, no discount is offered. The discount is permissible only on base fare. Other Charges like Reservation charges, Superfast Charges , GST, etc., will be levied separately.
The ticketing system will automatically apply the relevant discounts based on the occupancy rates on tickets booked online. The discounted fares will also be available for tickets booked at PRS counters.
The discounted fares will be offered on all parts of the journey, be it the first leg and/or the last leg of the journey and/or intermediate sections and/or end to end journey, according to a statement released by Southern Railway.
