Heavy rains in north east, NFR cancels trains in Lumding division

Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has cancelled three train services and partially cancelled four after heavy rains in Assam inundated railway track between Bokajan and Chongajan stations in Lumding – Furkating single line section (at Km 274 / 8-9 ).

The section is under Lumding division of NFR, has been affected due to heavy rain and resultant rise in water level since last evening. The details of trains affected are given as follows:

Cancellation:

  1. 12087 Naharlagun – Guwahati Shatabdi Express of 29.10.2019 will remain cancelled.
  2. 12085 Guwahati – Dibrugarh Shatabdi Express of 29.10.2019 will remain cancelled.
  3. 55901 passenger of 29.10.2019 will remain cancelled.

Short termination/Restoration:

  1. 15718 Mariani – Guwahati Intercity express of 29.10. 2019 will originate from Dimapur and will remain partially cancelled between Dimapur and Mariani.
  2. 15960 Kamrup Express scheduled to start from Dibrugarh on 28.10.2019 will originate from Guwahati on 29.10.19 and will remain partially cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.
  3. 14055 Brahmaputra Mail scheduled to start from Dibrugarh on 28.10.2019 will originate from Guwahati on 29.10.19 and will remain partially cancelled between Dibrugarh and Guwahati.
  4. 15604 / 15606 Ledo/Dibrugarh – Guwahati Intercity Express of 28.10.2019 will start as schedule.

Vigilance week on NFR

The observance of “Vigilance Awareness Week-2019” started today in NFR with the theme of this year’s programme is “Integrity – a way of life”.

As part of the programme, “Integrity Pledge” was taken by officers and staff at NFR headquarters, Maligaon. Sanjive Roy, GM/NFR, Nilesh Kishore Prasad, GM/CON/NFR, Shri Boniface Lakra, CVO/NFR attended the programme.

A video conference with senior officials from all the five divisions of NFR – Katihar, Alipurduar, Rangiya, Lumding and Tinsukia – was held where various issues were discussed upon for promoting more transparent ways in administrative working.
