Railway Board has conveyed approval to start post M.B.B.S Diploma courses in Railway Hospitals in Feb 2021. These MBBS Diploma courses will be started shortly at Central Hospital, Hubballi and Divisional Railway Hospital, Mysuru. The details of courses approved Railway Board are as under:

These post graduation courses will be started after inspection and accreditation by Diplomate of National Board (DNB) authorities. The selection of candidates will be through NEET examination and allotment by DNB authorities. 50% of these post graduation courses are reserved of IRHS officers and rest of the 50% are open for public. These post graduation course will help Railways in getting specialist for railways in particular and improving the strength of specialists over all.
Railway hospitals over SWR are also successfully running vaccination centers for Covid-19 vaccination. So for SWR has vaccinated 733 (1st dose) and 484 (2nd dose) Health Care Workers and 876 (1st dose) front line workers (RPF).
All the three Railway Hospitals of SWR are also empanelled hospitals for treatment of PM-JAY beneficiaries.
