The 11km MGBS – JBS section of the Green line / Corridor 2 of the Hyderabad Metro Rail would be inaugurated by the Telangana Chief Minister Shri K Chandrashekhar Rao at 4pm on 7th of February.
It has not yet been confirmed if the services would be thrown open for the public on the same day or the next day. This was revealed by the Urban development minister Shri K. Tarakarama Rao in a tweet.
Railpost.in had reported on Jan 13th about the section receiving the go ahead from the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety during the inspection that took place between 9th-11th January.
The inauguration of the Green Corridor is the final part of Phase I of the Hyderabad Metro project. This makes the entire 69 km HMRL the second largest metro rail project in the country after the Delhi Metro. The 11 km section has 9 stations connecting some of the busy commercial as well as the residential thickly populated areas of the city. The section has interchanges with the Blue and Red corridors at Parade Grounds and MGBS respectively.
