Indian Railways has suspended booking of all type of reserved /unreserved tickets for journey period of up to 2400 hours (mid night of April 14/15, 2020) booked either through online or over-the -counter.
This follows the Centre’s decision of a 21-day lockdown to combat Covid-19 which started at midnight of March 24/25.
All counters dispensing reserved/unreserved tickets at all railway station premises and outside will be closed until 2400 hours April 14, 2020.
Passengers may book e-tickets for journey period post 2400 hours of April 14, 2020 online.
The Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), IR’s IT arm and IRCTC have been asked to disable bookings for the above mentioned period.
They have been asked to feed the list of cancelled trains in the Integrated Coaching Management System (ICMS) to enable refunds on the passenger reservation system (PRS).
