Indian Railways and IRCTC has launched a new Sri Ramayan Yatra AC tourist train for pilgrims. The 17-day, 7,500-kilometre journey will take devotees to places of spiritual importance across India in air-conditioned comfort with modern coaches and amenities. The train earlier operated as a non-air-conditioned sleeper service.
According to a statement from IRCTC, the Sri Ramayan Yatra will begin from Delhi’s Safdarjung station on 7th November 2021. The train will cover all important places associated with Lord Ram.
Sri Ramayan Yatra AC Tourist Train Features and Pricing
IRCTC says that Deluxe AC Tourist Train will feature two fine dining restaurants, a modern kitchen, shower cubicles in coaches, sensor-based washroom functions and foot massagers. The fully air-conditioned train provides two types of accommodation. AC First Class and Two-Tier AC Sleeper. Safety features include CCTV cameras and security guards for each coach.
The Yatra has been priced at Rs. 82,950 per passenger for a Two-Tier AC Berth and Rs. 1,02,095 per passenger for a First Class AC berth. The price covers the train journey, hotel accommodation, all meals, all transfers, sightseeing, travel insurance and services of IRCTC Tour Managers.
All necessary health precautions measures will be taken care of by providing safe and healthy travel during the tour. Government or Public Sector employees can avail LTC facility on this tour as per eligibility based on the guidelines issued by the Government of India.
Only fully COVID-19 vaccinated passengers will be allowed for ages of 18 and above. IRCTC will provide safety kits to all tourists. Staff shall be screened thoroughly and the kitchen & restaurants shall be sanitized after every meal service.
IRCTC’s Sri Ramayan Yatra AC Tourist Train Itinerary
The first stop will be Ayodhya, followed by Sitamarhi in Bihar, where a road trip to Janakpur in Nepal will be organized for passengers. The train will later go onwards to Varanasi, where a road trip to various places at Varanasi, Prayag, Shringverpur and Chitrakoot will follow. The train will then travel to Nashik for a visit to Trayambakeshwar and Panchavati. Next on the route will be Hampi, the ancient city of Kishkindha.
Last will be the famous pilgrimage destination of Rameswaram. The train will return to Delhi on the 17th day, having covered over 7,500 kilometres along the journey.
