The name of Allahabad Junction railway station has been finally changed to Prayagraj Junction.
This was announced by a notification issued by the Governor of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
In other name changes, Allahabad City railway station has been re-named as Prayagraj Rambag, Allahabad Chheoki as Prayagraj Chheoki and Prayag Ghat as Prayagraj Sangam.
A station by the name Prayag (station code PRG) already exists between Prayagraj Junction and Phaphamau Jn, from where lines towards Rae-Bareli, Pratapgarh and Janghai veer away.
