East Coast Railway has completed electrification work on the Khurda Road – Nayagarh Town section of the Khurda Road – Balangir line, according to a notification from the zone.
The Commissioner for Railway Safety conducted an inspection of the 66-kilometre line on 29th March 2021. A CRS special train was hauled by an electric locomotive from Nayagarh Town to Khurda Road at the sectional speed of 80 kmph. The project is to cost approximately Rs 60 crores.
Electrification work on the Nayagarh Town – Mahipur will be complete soon, claims ECoR.
