Central Railway has decided to add more services to ease rush and make commutes easier for essential workers in Mumbai.
Effective today, the zone has started 68 new services in addition to the 355 services that were already operating.
The new services are distributed over various destinations on both mainline and harbour line routes.

Special suburban services were put into place for essential workers at the request of Maharashtra government from 15th of June 2020.
These services were gradually increased for the convenience of passengers and to avoid crowding and maintain social distancing.
All commuters as permitted by the Government of Maharashtra are requested to follow social distancing norms and wear masks, while boarding, alighting at railway stations and travelling in special suburban trains.
