North Central Railway has closed 18 level crossings this financial year, three of them in the month of September 2020, while opening four RUBs apart from taking up several other maintenance and safety works.
Five level crossing gates have also been interlocked this financial year Work of launching bowstring girder of 42-meter span weighing more than 300 tonnes has been completed successfully at ROB no 426 in Birlanagar Rayaru section of Jhansi division.
Besides this, 53 track kms track renewal done in September-20 with total 193 track kms TRR (primary) completed in 2020-21 till September. Six thick web switches have been provided in September 2020, 15 thick web switches have been commissioned in FY 2020-21.
Despite Covid-19 situation, execution of all other safety related track maintenance works has been above Railway board’s target for September-20.
First running loop at stations between Lalitpur and Khajuraho has been increased from 15 kmph to 30 kmph for faster receipt and dispatch of trains. For enhanced safety of passengers, new FOB at Kanwar station was commissioned in September and so far 04 new FOBs are constructed in current financial year.
Block Proving Axle Counters (BPAC) were commissioned in 03 block sections during September. The entire section between Prayagraj to Fatehpur is now equipped with BPAC for automatic confirmation of complete arrival of a train at a particular station.
Panel interlocking (PI) work at Harduaganj was commissioned on 14.09.20 with the provision of Ultratech Cement siding along with additional line no 9 and 10 in Harduaganj yard. With the completion of this work, 163 route combinations are available in this major yard as compared to earlier 117 routes.
In the field of rolling stock safety-related maintenance works like intermediate overhauling (IOH) of 50 coaches, shop schedule( SS-I) of 29 LHB coaches, periodic overhauling (POH) of 31 coaches, routine overhauling (ROH) of 286 wagons and periodic overhauling(POH) of 667 wagons was done during September 2020.
