Southern Railway has decided to run several intra-sstate special trains in the state of Tamil Nadu. Here’s a list
SPECIAL TRAINS TO RUN WITHIN TAMIL NADU
As approved by Railway Board vide reference cited, the following special trains will be run WITH EFFECT FROM THE DATES INDICATED AS FULLY RESERVED SERVICES as per the timings and stoppages detailed .
1. T. No. 02675/02676 Chennai – Coimbatore – Chennai Superfast Intercity special
2. T. No. 02084/02083 Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai – Coimbatore Janshatabdi special (Except Tuesdays)
3. T. No. 02679/02680 Chennai – Coimbatore – Chennai Superfast Express special
4. T. No. 02673/02674 Chennai – Coimbatore – Chennai Superfast Express special
5. T. No. 06795/06796 Chennai Egmore – Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore special via Main line.
The timings and stoppages will be as under.
1. Train Nos 02675/02676 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Dr MGR Chennai Central Superfast Intercity Special (Daily) from 7th September 2020.
With a Composition of Two AC Chair Cars, 14 Second Class Chair Cars, 5 General Second Class Coaches, One Pantry Car and Two luggage cum brake vans, Train No.02675 will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.10 hrs and reach Coimbatore at 14.05 hrs. In the return direction, Train No.02676 will leave Coimbatore at 15.15hrs and reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 23.00 hrs.
2. Train No. 02084/02083 Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai – Coimbatore Janshatabdi Special (Except Tuesdays) from7th September 2020
With a composition of Two Jan Shatabdi AC Chair Cars, 12 Jan Shatabdi Second Class Chair Cars, and two JanShatabdi Brake Vans, TrainNo.02084 Coimbatore – Mayiladuthurai Jan Shatabdi Special will leave Coimbatore at 07.10 hrs and reach Mayiladuthurai at 13.40 hrs. In the return direction, Train No.02083 Mayiladuthurai – Coimbatore Jan Shatabdi Special will leave Mayiladuthurau at 14.50 hrs and reach Coimbatore at 21.15 hrs.
3. Train No. 02679/02680 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Dr MGR Chennai Central Intercity Superfast Special ( Daily) on and from 7th September 2020
With a composition of 2 AC Chair Cars, 13 Second Class Chair Cars, One Pantry Car, and Two Generator Car cum Brake Vans, Train No.02680 will leave Coimbatore at 06.15 hrs and reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 13.50 hrs. In the return direction, Train No.02679 will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 14.30 hrs and reach Coimbatore at 22.15 hrs.
4. Train No. 02673/02674 Dr MGR Chennai Central – Coimbatore – Dr MGR Chennai Central Super Fast Express special (Daily).
Date of Commencement of Service Ex Chennai – 7th September 2020
Date of Commencement of Service Ex Coimbatore – 8thSeptember 2020
With a composition of One First AC Coach, One Two Tier AC Coach, Five 3 Tier AC Coaches, 10 Sleeper Class Coaches, three General Second Class Coaches, and Two Generator cum Brake Vans, Train No.02673 will leave Dr MGR Chennai Central at 22.00 hrs to reach Coimbatore at 06.00 hrs the next day. In the return direction, Train No.02674 will leave Coimbatore at 22.40 hrs to reach Dr MGR Chennai Central at 06.35 hrs.
5. Train No.06795/06796 MS-TPJ-MS special (via Main line) (daily)
Date of Commencement of Service Ex Chennai – 7th September 2020
Date of Commencement of Service Ex Coimbatore – 8thSeptember 2020
With a composition of One First AC Coach, Three 2-Tier AC Coaches, Five 3-Tier AC Coaches, 9 Sleeper Class Coaches, three General Second Class Coaches, and Two Generator cum Brake Vans, Train No.06795 will leave Chennai Egmore at 08.00 hrs and reach Tiruchchirappalli at 16.00 hrs. In the return direction, Train No.06796 will leave Tiruchchirappalli at 10.00 hrs and reach Chennai Egmore at 17.50 hrs.
RESERVATIONS FOR ALL THE ABOVE TRAINS WILL START AT 08.00 hrs ON 5th SEPTEMBER 2020
All Safety Protocols as prescribed by MHA Guidelines shall be followed.
All passengers shall be compulsorily screened and only asymptomatic passengers will be allowed to enter /board the train.
Passengers travelling by these special services will observe the following precautions :
(a) Only passengers with Confirmed tickets shall be allowed to enter the Railway station.
(b) All passengers shall be wearing face covers/masks at the entry and during travel.
(c) The passengers shall reach the station at-least 90 minutes in advance to facilitate thermal screening at the station. Only passengers who are found asymptomatic will be permitted to travel.
(d) Passengers shall observe social distancing both at the station and on trains.
All passengers are advised to download and use the Aarogya Setu application.
No Linen, blankets and curtains shall be provided inside the train. Passengers are advised to carry their own linen for the travel. The temperature inside AC coaches shall be suitably regulated for this purpose.
