The Patna Delhi Rajdhani service will get a brand new Tejas rake with passenger-friendly features starting today, East Central Railway has announced.
02309 Rajendra Nagar Terminal – New Delhi Rajdhani Express Special train will run with a Tejas Rake from today i.e. 01.09.2021. Therefore, the return trip as 02310 Rajdhani Express Special train from New Delhi to Rajendra Nagar Terminal will run on Tejas Rake from tomorrow, 2nd September 2021.
02309/02310 Rajdhani Express Special runs via Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Jn., Prayagraj Jn., Kanpur Central and will have several new features. The Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani had begun operating with a Tejas rake from July 2021. Other Rajdhanis are also expected to get such rakes over the next few months.
New Features of the Patna Delhi Rajdhani Express Tejas Rake
Doors of coaches of the new Tejas rake will be centrally controlled. The rake features an automatic plug door system. The train will not start moving till all entry gates are closed, thus improving safety.
Each coach of this Tejas rake with CCTV cameras has been fitted with two LCD displays and will show important travel information like next station, distance remaining, expected arrival/departure time, delay and security related messages to the passengers. Improved interiors and new features near passengers are likely to be more comfortable throughout the journey. Roller blinds have been installed in all coaches instead of curtains which make cleaning easier.
The coaches also feature improved side lower berths, mobile charging for all passengers, automatic fire detection and alarm systems as new additions. Bio-vacuum toilets have been installed in all the coaches which helps in maintaining better cleanliness in the toilet due to good flushing. In addition, it also saves water. The toilet is fitted with a foul odour control system. For the convenience of women passengers travelling infants, a provision has been made for child care in the toilets.
The coaches have air spring suspension for improved ride quality. Wheel slide protection devices have been installed for every coach to improve safety and ride quality.
