India’s High Speed Rail unit NHSRCL and Japan Railway Track Consultant Co. Limited (JRTC) have signed an MoU for track design work on part of the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail project.
The MoU is for the 116 km T3 package between Vadodara and Sabarmati Depot in the state of Gujarat. JRTC will do detailed design and drawings of HSR track components like reinforced concrete trackbed, slab arrangement and Continuous Welded Rail (CWR) and other aspects, says a press note from NHSRCL.
NHSRCL has earlier signed MoU for the designs of HSR track and track works for the T-2 package (237 km long section) between Vadodara and Vapi in Gujarat state.
According to Rajendra Prasad, Director Project, NHSRCL, “This MoU signing today is the culmination of hard work put in by JICC, JRTC & NHSRCL teams. JRTC is the only specialized agency for this kind of highly technical work and with their cooperation, we are hopeful to finalize track designs quickly.”
The ceremony was also attended by Shri ISAO Horiyama, President JRTC, Shri H.L.Suthar, Principal Executive Director/Design, NHSRCL, other senior officers from NHSRCL, JICC, and JRTC.
