North Central Railway continue innovating to sustain Operation & Maintenance activities with Social Distancing norms
Besides safe, efficient and flawless operation of about 200 goods and 18 timetabled parcel trains on regular basis, North Central railway has also taken up many novel initiatives like inhouse production of reusable face covers, sanitizer, coverall etc. to fight Covid-19 pandemic.
Through ongoing efforts NCR has already produced over 1.5 lakhs reusable face covers, 8000 liters sanitizer and 1500 coveralls. Now NCR is considering to take up inhouse production of N95 mask for medical personnel which is a critical and important PPE items for healthcare personnel.
In the daily video conference of NCR and NR officials, General Manager Sri Rajiv Chaudhry urged upon concerned departments to study and explore possibility of inhouse production of N95 mask by Railway units. He said that NR and NCR have done excellent work in production of coverall and N95 mask production internally will be a significant step in this fight against Covid-19 pandemic.
Under the prevailing lockdown conditions it is imperative that operation &maintenance activities are continued with proper social distancing norms to keep assets in healthy condition as well to avoid any large arrear of activities for future.
With this guiding principle North Central Railway is taking series of steps and innovating every day to maintains all fixed and moving assets , continuation of operations in efficient way and keeping other important activities up to date.
Some of the important initiatives on NCR include online training programs for mandatory courses ,discharge of official work using E-office, online tenders finalization, identification and planning for critical works , maintenance of assets based on inputs from various automated systems & track recording machines, online drawing finalization , completing important documents required for CRS sanction for opening new section & speed raising, planning of future works , digitization of office records , online grievance redressal arrangement , online counselling facility in hospitals etc .
