East Central Railway has notified that the Paimar- Bandhua new rail line in Danapur division will be energized using 25 KV AC traction effective February 23.. Public has been cautioned not to come into contact with live wires.
The Paimar –Bandhua new line section connects the Bandhua station on the grand chord line ( Gaya-Gomoh) to the Paimar station on the Gaya-Manpur- Tilaiya –Kiul line. The connection will shorten the distance for hauling coal from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand to the Barh Thermal Power Plant in Bihar.
Kiul -Gaya line
The 129 km Kiul-Gaya line was opened for traffic in 1879 by the South Bihar Railway Company and was operated by the East Indian Railway. Electrification of the line was completed in October 2018. Doubling is on at an estimated cost of over Rs 1350 crore and is likely to be completed by March 2020.
