Railway Board has asked all zones to obtain the required clearance / sanctions for running WAP-5 / WAP-7 in push-pull mode within their respective zones according to sources. This follows the successful trials of a special Rajdhani rake conducted in push -pull mode ( one WAP-5 / WAP-7 loco in front and another in the rear) in the second week of February 2019, and the subsequent issuance of speed certificates by the Research, Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) of Indian Railways.
