South Central Railway is operating both freight and parcel trains on continuous basis to ensure transportation of essential commodities and necessary items to all parts of the country, though passenger train services have been suspended. Railways has planned to run these parcel special trains at a minimum speed of 55 kilometers per hour and no passenger will be allowed to travel in these parcel express trains.
Further to the endeavor, SCR will run thirty two (32) parcel express trains including two doodh duronto specials during the week commencing from 8th to 14th April, 2020 as detailed below:
ØDaily Parcel Express trains between Kakinada Town and Secunderabad (via., Rajahmundry, Nidadavolu, Bhimavaram Town, Gudivada, Vijayawada and Kazipet) from 8th to 14th April, 2020.
ØDaily Parcel Express trains between Renigunta and Secunderabad (via., Gudur, Vijayawada and Kazipet and 4 days via Guntakal, Raichur and Sulehalli) from 8th to 14th April, 2020.
ØTwo Doodh Duronto Special trains between Renigunta to Nizamuddin (Delhi) will be run on 8th and 12th April, 2020.
ØOne Parcel Express Train will be run from Secunderabad to Howrah on 9th April, 2020.
ØParcel Express train will be run from Hyderabad to Amritsar (via H.S. Nanded and Aurangabad) on 10th April, 2020.
ØIt is also planned to run similar Parcel Express train between Aurangabad and Secunderabad based on the demand.
ØEight Parcel Vans have been loaded at Guntakal, Nandyal, Renigunta, Secunderabad and dispatched towards Howrah, Delhi, Chandigarh etc., by various Parcel Express trains.
In addition to above, essential commodities are being cleared by following passing through Parcel Express Trains:
1. Yesvantapur-Howrah-Yesvatapur daily (via Chennai, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam)
2. Yesvantapur-Nizamuddin-Yesvantapur, weekly (via Dharmavaram, Raichur, Wadi)
3. Yesvantapur-Gorakhpur-Yesvantapur weekly (via Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Balharshah)
4. Yesvantapur-Guwahati-Yesvantapur weekly (via Dharmavaram, Guntakal, Sulehalli, Secunderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam)
5. Chennai Central-Nizamuddin-Chennai Central, daily (via Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Balharshah)
6. Chennai Central-Kalyan-Chennai Central weekly (via Renigunta, Guntakal, Wadi)
7. Chennai Central-Ahmedabad-Chennai Central weekly (via Gudur, Vijayawada, Warangal, Balharshah).
Earlier, South Central Railway has run two Milk Special Trains carrying around 4.8 lakh liters of Milk and 46 tons of fruits from Renigunta to Nizamuddin and one Parcel Express Train from Secunderabad to Howrah, which carried Medicines, Eggs and Fish etc.
Shri Gajanan Mallya, General Manger, SCR complimented the initiatives of staff and officers in planning the transportation of essential commodities for offering loading in coordination with consignor and state government authorities. He advised the officials to show the same enthusiasm in mobilizing the resources to serve the nation during the crisis hour.
