To curb the menace of black-marketing of passenger reservation tickets and to facilitate hassle free journey to bonafide passengers during Diwali festival, special drives were conducted against e-ticketing touting in South Central Railway under the personal monitoring of Sri G. M. Eswara Rao, IG-Principal Chief Security Commissioner/RPF/SCR. Simultaneous raids were conducted at various locations like Warangal, Yadgir, Raichur, Bapatla, Twin Cities, over Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka States falling in South Central Railway jurisdiction.
In these raids, 206 live tickets and 840 post journey tickets totally 1046 e-tickets worth Rs. 14, 50, 880/- booked by touts on commission basis, were seized with the arrest of 25 touts responsible in 24 cases booked under section 143 of the Railway Act. The personal user IDs used by touts are being sent to IRCTC for deactivation immediately. RPF administration of South Central Railway is committed to take stringent action against touting activities and passengers are being cautioned not to purchase railway reservation tickets from unauthorized travel agents.
