South Eastern Railway held a meeting with the members of its Zonal Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (ZRUCC) on October 22.
It was chaired by SER General Manager (GM) Sanjay Kumar Mohanty. The committee consists of members from different walks of life including politicians, chambers of commerce, passenger associations, trade associations from West Bengal, Odisha and Jharkhand besides state government representatives from these states.
Issues discussed included improvement of train services, passenger amenities and cleanliness. Members made demands related to introduction of new trains, extension of services, additional stoppages of trains and increase in frequency of trains and passenger amenities.
The SER GM apprised the group about initiatives in passenger amenities, progress of construction work and improvement of safety measures.
