In view of huge demand for reserved tickets during the festive season, an intensive drive was conducted by Railway Protection Force all over South Eastern Railway from 26th October to 4th November, 2019 in which suspected IDs were verified and local intelligence was gathered about touts engaged in procurement of reserved tickets and selling them to passengers at a higher price for personal gain.
As a part of the operation, 199 addresses were physically checked by RPF. During the drive, 58 persons were arrested and 222 live tickets worth Rs. 4,50,662/- and 631 used tickets valued Rs. 10,49,156/- were seized over South Eastern Railway. This is the largest ever drive by RPF in South Eastern Railway Zone.
