South Eastern Railway (SER) is running Parcel Express Trains in different routes to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential commodities viz. food items, medicines etc. during the lockdown after the outbreak of COVID-19.
These Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains are running between Shalimar-Ranchi, Howrah-Yesvantpur, Shalimar-Mumbai, Tatanagar-Itwari, Howrah-Secunderabad and Shalimar-Porbander. It has been decided to continue the running of these Time Tabled Parcel Express Trains till May 3, 2020.

Unsung Heroes
SER’s unsung heroes include 4946 Loco Pilots and 2359 Guards from all four Divisions- Kharagpur, Ranchi, Chakradharpur and Adra.
Their exemplary service has ensured timely supplies of essential commodities including food items, medicines, medical equipments etc. to every nook and corner of the country by running of 112 trips of Parcel Express Trains in different routes after nation-wide lockdown.
The working of loco pilots and guards is not only tough but also requires immense presence of mind along with courage to control the moving train even in adverse situation. They have to halt at different locations even in odd hours when they are on duty for loading and unloading of materials besides maintaining train punctuality.
A large section of support staff are also heroes in their own right including those working round the clock in the Control Room, RRI Cabin, and railway stations.
