South Eastern Railway has upgraded the Maximum Permissible Speeds on the Andul-Kharagpur section to 130 km/h from the earlier 110 km/h.
All three lines on the 102 kilometre stretch under Kharagpur division are now declared fit for 130 km/h speeds. With this upgrade, four pairs of trains are running at 130 km/h speeds on the section as of now, SER claimed in a statement today.
The zone has also announced increases in speeds on several other sections
