Shri John Thomas, General Manager, Southern Railway conducted annual inspection at major and minor stations of Madurai Division and reviewed the Division’s performance. Shri V.R. Lenin, Divisional Railway Manager of Madurai Division, Principal Heads of Departments, other officers and staff accompanied the General Manager.
Shri John Thomas, inspected Sengottai railway station, RRI cabin and inaugurated an exhibition by Mechanical/Signal/Safety departments at the station. He also inspected the Health unit, Rajbhasha digital library, Running room, Traffic level crossing gate and an electrical substation.
In Tenkasi – Kadayanallur section, inspected Interlocked level crossing gate No.499 and Minor bridge No.284.
In Pambakovil – Sankarankovil section inspected curve No.3 and Non-interlocked level crossing No.480.
In Sankarankovil – Rajapalayam section inspected major bridge No.151 and EB powerline crossing work.
At Rajapalayam, GM inspected railway station, railway colony also conducted a speed trial between Rajapalayam and Virudhunagar section.
At Virudhunagar, GM inspected railway station and TRD sub-station.
Shri John Thomas also addressed the Press and Media at Sengottai Railway station and detailed about the developments taking place in Madurai Division and progress of various projects in the region. General Manager interacted with Passenger Associations and commuters at various railway stations and received their representations.
During the course of the inspection, General Manager declared cash awards to outstanding employees and distributed merit certificates on the spot.
