A landslip occurred at Km 60/300-400 between stations Kottayam and Chingavanam in the Ernakulam – Kottayam – Kayamkulam Section today(29th July, 2020) morning consequent to heavy downpour. There are no casualities, Men and Material were mobilized immediately for track restoration. In spite of adverse weather, removal of heavy boulders and earth from the track and restoration of Electric Traction OverHead Equipments at the landslip location is going on in full-swing. Train services are temporarily suspended in the Ernakulam – Kottayam – Kayamkulam section.
Following are the traffic repercussions due to line/power block for restoration work.
TRAINS PARTIALLY CANCELLED
- Train No.06301 Thiruvananthapuram – Ernakulam Venad Special Express has been short terminated at Changanassery. This being a connection train for Train No. 02617 Ernakulam – Hazrat Nizamuddin Special train, immediate arrangements were made for the transportation of passengers by-road to Ernakulam Juntion railway station.
2. Train No.06302 Ernakulam – Thiruvananthapuram Venad Special Express is partially cancelled between Ernakulam Junction and Changanassery. The train commenced its journey from Changanassery instead of Ernakulam Junction today.
TRAIN RESCHEDULED
· Train No. 02617 Ernakulam-Hazrat Nizamuddin Mangala Special train scheduled to leave Ernakulam Junction at 10.50 hrs. was rescheduled to leave at 11.45 hrs. due to short termination of Train No. 06301 Thiruvananthapuram – Ernakulam Venad Special at Changanassery and for arranging boarding of passengers.
TRAIN DIVERTED
· Train No. 02082 Thiruvananthapuram – Kannur Jan Shatabdi Special via Kottayam has been diverted to run via Alappuzha today and permitted additional temporary stoppage at Kayamkulam Junction, Alappuzha and Ernakulam Junction.
