SWR: Additional Parcel Trains to Kolkata, Gorakhpur, Delhi from Bengaluru

MORE TIMETABLED PARCEL TRAINS BY SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY IN THE WAKE OF COVID-19

In a major boost to the supply chain across the country, Indian Railway has introduced unhindered services of Time Table Parcel Trains for nationwide transportation of essential commodities and other goods.  This is expected to boost the availability of vital goods required for ordinary citizens, industry and agriculture. 

This is the first time that Time Tabled scheduled for such a large number of parcel trains are being run wherein local industries, e-commerce companies, interested groups, individuals and prospective loaders can book parcels.

On South Western Railway timetabled parcel express trains is being run to various destinations with bookings from point to point in order to ensure fast and convenient transportation of essential commodities in the wake of national lock down due to COVID-19 threat.

Now it is decided to operate four daily trips of Train No.00615 / 00616 Yesvantpur – Howrah – Yesvantpur Daily Parcel Express Special as detailed below: –

Train No.00615 Yesvantpur – Howrah Daily Parcel Special will depart from Yesvantpur at 12.00 hrs on 09.04.2020, 10.04.2020, 11.04.2020 and 12.04.2020 to reach Howrah at 02.30 hrs on 11.04.2020, 12.04.2020, 13.04.2020 and 14.04.2020, respectively.  

In the return direction, Train No.00616 Howrah – Yesvantpur Daily Parcel Special departs from Howrah at 11.00 hrs on 11.04.2020, 12,04.2020, 13.04.2020 and 14.04.2020 to reach Yesvantpur at 23.00 hrs on the next days. 

The trains will have commercial stoppages at Jolarpettai, Chennai, Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Visakhapatnam, Khurda Road, Bubhaneswar, Balasore, Kharagpur, Panskura and Mecheda In both directions. Parcels can be booked from all these stations.

The Parcel trains will have a composition of 5 parcel vans and 2 sitting-cum-luggage vans.

Train Nos.00603 Yesvantpur – Howrah Parcel Express Special of 11.04.2020 and 00604  Howra – Yesvantpur Parcel Express Special of 13.04.2020 are cancelled Consequent to the operation of above Parcel Special.

The railway has already notified the operation of the following train services for transport of essential commodities: –

Yesvantpur – H Nizamuddin – Yesvantpur train will leave Yesvantpur on 13th at 19.00 hrs and arrive H Nizamuddin on 15th at 10.30 hrs.  On the return trip the train will leave H Nizamuddin on 15th at 21.15 hrs and reach Yesvantpur on 17th at 14.00 hrs.  Stoppages are provided at Raichur, Kalaburagi, Solapur, Manmad, Bhusaval, Itarsi, Bhopal, Jhansi, Agra Cant. & Mathura Jn Railway Stations.

Yesvantpur – Gorakhpur – Yesvantpur train will leave Yesvantpur on 12th at 13.00 hrs and arrive at Gorakhpur on 14th at 23.00 hrs. On the return trip the train will leave Gorakhpur on 15th at 13.00 hrs and reach Yesvantpur on 17th at 21.45 hrs. Stoppages will be available at Chennai Central, Vijayawada, Sirpur Kagaznagar, Balharshah,  Nagpur, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Satna, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (Mughalsarai) & Patna Jn. Railway Stations.

SWR is ensuring time-tabled parcel trains to keep supply chains of essential commodities, milk, fruits, vegetables and other edibles intact in close coordination with State Governments to ensure unhindered services.  During the lockdown period South Western Railway has moved three time tabled trains to Howrah one each to Guwahati, Delhi and Patna/Goarkhpur.   210 Tonnes of materials containing Hatching Eggs, Medicines, Fruits & Vegetables to various destinations like Howrah, Bhubaneswar, Ghorakhpur, Patna, Jabalpur, Delhi & Guwahati from Bengaluru.  So far SWR has run In view of good patronage and demand for parcel service to Howrah it is now planned to run this service to daily basis.
