Shri Suresh Angadi, Union Minister of State for Railways, conducted a window trailing inspection from Hubballi to Tumkuru. He was accompanied by general manager/South Western Railway Shri A.KSingh, PCOM/SWR, PCE/SWR, PCEE/SWR, PCME/SWR and DRM/Mysore
He took stock of the ongoing track doubling works and instructed concerned authorities of Railways to improve punctuality of express/ passenger trains on this route further. He advised expediting doubling and electrification works between Bengaluru and Hubli and completion in a time-bound manner.
He further instructed at the new Davangere station building work to be completed by June-2020 and also to start work of construction of RUB in lieu of LC 199 at Davangere duly coordinating with State Government.
After interacting with the public at Birur, the Minister announced that Shivamogga Town-Yeswantpur Janshatabdi daily express and Yesvantpur- Pandharpur weekly express will be provided stoppage at Birur.
Later in the day, reacting to a representation from the public and the local MLA at Tiptur, Shri Angadi announced that stoppage for Golgumbaz Express at Tiptur and for Shivamogga-Yeswantpur Janshatabdi expresses at Arsikere will also be provided.
Acting swiftly on the instructions of Hon’ble MoSR, the stoppages for the above-mentioned trains have been notified on the same day.
Shri Angadi ji also instructed concerned officials to expedite the work of construction of RUB in lieu of level crossing gates no 84&85 between Honavalli road and Tiptur and complete the work on priority.
Senior Railway officers including Smt. Aparna Garg. Divisional Railway Manager, Mysuru and other senior officers from Mysuru Division accompanied Hon’ble MoSR in this inspection.
